Image of Luster

Luster -

Pair of large Victorian cobalt blue glass pedestal mantle lusters. The Bohemian lusters are decorated with a hand painted, raised enameled floral pattern and heavily gilded. The bowl flares out at the top to form a scalloped lip. Eight very long, faceted spear prisms hang from the bowl of each lustre. The prisms are configured in two pieces with the spear hanging from a square cut oblong. The spear flares to a bulbous bottom ending in a point. The vases are hollow and each base has a small arch cut in the bottom edge of the base, suggesting that an electric cord could be threaded through the hole.
