Object Name Medal, Commemorative

Description Commemorative medal. The gold medal is rectangular with an image of a bust of George Washington. Two shields are superimposed on a laurel leaf-like motif. "1732" is on the left shield and "1932" is on the right shield. Two stars are above the bust. Below the bust is what appears to a halberd. In raised lettering, below the halberd is "Republican National Convention / Chicago, 1932." A bar attached at the top of the medal has "Geo. A. Ball" engraved in black. An enameled American flag in the shape of bunting is attached to the bar. "National Committee" is attached to the front of an eagle with open wings. A red, white, and blue grosgrain ribbon is attached behind the medal. On the back is a safety pin fastener. The medal is in a forest green box with a cream faux satin lining.
