Description Straight razor and case. Hollow ground razor made of steel with olive swirl celluloid scales. Tang stamped, "Ran-tan-Ka-rus/ RED DEVIL" on one side. Reverse of tang stamped, "JOH. ENGSTROM/ MADE IN SWEDEN." Rectangular case made of cardboard and covered in textured black paper. One side of case stamped "NATIONAL/ THE EUGENE/ BERNINGHAUS CO./ CINCINNATI O./ Made in Germany." A profile image of an eagle stamped in center.

Provenance The razor and case were passed down through family to Caroline Brady. Ms. Brady was descended from the Wolfe, Brady, and McCulloch families of Muncie. The Brady family was also connected to the Ball family of Muncie through the marriage of Elizabeth Wolfe Brady to Frank Clayton Ball in 1893.
